Alpha: Men Love Vengeance (2026) Review: Revenge, Drugs and a Cop's Hot-Headed Son

This Alpha: Men Love Vengeance review covers a Kannada-language action film from director Vijay Naagendra, released in India on 20 February 2026. It pairs a father-and-son story with a gang of hired killers, and it leans hard on revenge. Here is what to expect before you buy a ticket.

Alpha: Men Love Vengeance Review: The Story So Far (No Spoilers)

The plot centers on Arjun, a fiery young man played by Hemanth Kumar. He worships his father, an honest police inspector who hopes his son will one day wear an IPS uniform. That hope sets up the emotional weight of the first act.

On a separate track, three assassins with shaky morals take a job to move drugs worth crores. The film is built around what happens when these two worlds meet. Early on, it sets up a clash between a straight-laced family and a criminal crew, which is a familiar but dependable engine for an action movie.

The film runs 144 minutes, so it takes its time. Its Indian censor rating is UA16+, which signals violence and mature themes. Note that this is not the Hindi spy film that shares part of its name, which is a different movie.

What Works in Alpha: Men Love Vengeance

The premise is clear and easy to grasp. A principled cop, an impulsive son and a trio of killers give the story strong contrasts from the start. You always know who stands where.

As an action film, it aims for the revenge-drama formula that Kannada cinema often serves with energy. The title promises vengeance and the setup supports that promise.

• Clear stakes: family honor against a dangerous drug job.

• Morally gray killers: the assassins are described as conflicted, which can add texture to the villain side.

• Strong father-son hook: the dream of an IPS career gives Arjun something personal to lose.

Alpha: Men Love Vengeance Cast and Performances

The Alpha: Men Love Vengeance cast is led by Hemanth Kumar as Arjun, with Gopika Suresh as Akanksha. The supporting list on IMDb also includes Avinash, Achyuth Kumar, Manasi Sudhir and Ramesh Indira.

Kumar carries the hot-headed lead role, which demands anger and vulnerability in equal measure. Veteran names like Avinash and Achyuth Kumar give the supporting bench some weight. I can't point to specific scene-level highlights beyond that, since the cast is better judged on screen than on paper.

Where Alpha: Men Love Vengeance Stumbles

The setup is familiar. An honest cop, a rebellious son and a drug deal gone wrong are well-worn ingredients, and the film will need strong execution to feel fresh. Viewers who want surprises in the premise may find it predictable.

A 144-minute runtime also asks for patience. Action dramas of this type can sag between set pieces, so pacing is the main risk.

There is little reliable critical data yet. Audience scores online are based on very small samples and vary wildly, so treat them with caution. The film also has the genre label of action, though other sources describe it as a crime thriller.

Is Alpha: Men Love Vengeance Worth Watching?

Yes, if you enjoy revenge-driven Kannada action and want a story with a personal core. The father-son bond gives the violence a purpose, and the assassin subplot adds menace. Fans of director Vijay Naagendra's earlier work in the genre will have the most context.

If you prefer subtle, slow-burn storytelling, this probably won't be your pick. For a straightforward action night, it makes sense. For more in the genre, browse our action movie reviews or our crime movie reviews.
